DPM Dar Heads to Kyrgyzstan to Represent Pakistan at SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

CHOLPON-ATA: (Web Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting.

The visit follows the conclusion of Dar’s official trip to the Philippines, where he participated in the ASEAN Regional Forum. Before leaving Manila, he thanked the Philippine government and the ASEAN Regional Forum for their warm hospitality extended to him and the Pakistani delegation.

During the SCO meeting, Dar is expected to take part in discussions on regional and global developments, security cooperation, and foreign policy matters among member states. He will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from SCO countries on the sidelines of the event.

Foreign ministers from Pakistan, China, India, Russia, Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the meeting, which serves as one of the organisation’s highest decision-making forums.

As part of his visit, the deputy prime minister is also scheduled to call on the President of Kyrgyzstan and discuss matters of mutual interest aimed at strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.
