Dar Praises British-Pakistani Contributions to Strengthening Relations

Landon-On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Ms. Angela Rayner, the Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities, and Local Government of the United Kingdom.

During his official visit to the UK, Deputy Prime Minister Dar extended his congratulations to Ms. Rayner on her new role as the British Deputy Prime Minister. He emphasized the significance of strengthening the Pakistan-UK partnership to advance their mutual interests in both bilateral and regional matters.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar praised the contributions of the British-Pakistani community in strengthening the enduring relationship between Pakistan and the UK.

He recalled Deputy Prime Minister Rayner’s visit to Pakistan following the 2022 floods and expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate with the UK on climate action and securing international support for countries vulnerable to climate change.

Dar highlighted the shared goals of creating opportunities for youth and boosting bilateral trade and investment. He also thanked the UK for maintaining its duty-free access for Pakistani exports.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Rayner congratulated Dar on Pakistan’s election to the UN Security Council and acknowledged the British Pakistani community’s positive impact on enhancing ties between the two nations.
