It has been a year since Punjab’s first female Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took over the charge of the province. She launched a record number of public welfare projects in a year. The CM Punjab not only launched many successful public welfare projects in her first year of government, but also completed most of them. After assuming power, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif introduced a monitoring system at the administrative level, which helped in implementing public welfare projects in a comprehensive manner. The CM Punjab introduced revolutionary measures in every sector. Be it the education sector or health, agriculture sector or Suthra Punjab project, welfare project for the disabled or legislation to prevent crimes like kite flying, issuance of minority cards or provision of easy loans for businesses, Dhee Rani program or environment-friendly measures, elimination of encroachments or construction of roads, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ensured practical steps to provide facilities to the people in every field.
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is working day and night for the welfare of the people. Education plays a pivotal role in the development of nations. The “Honahaar Scholarship Program” launched by the Chief Minister Punjab for students is not only commendable but it is also helping to reduce the financial burden of their parents while benefiting poor students who cannot afford the heavy cost of education. The scope of this program is being extended to colleges after universities. The projects of bike scheme and laptop scheme for students are also commendable. In the light of the vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, various steps are being taken to standardize health facilities. Historic steps like clinic on wheels, field hospital, free delivery of medicines at homes, children’s heart surgery program and air ambulance have been taken. The first “Chief Minister Dialysis Program Card” in the country’s history was approved and the fund for treatment was increased to 1 million. The CM Punjab inaugurated a free solar panel scheme to permanently relieve the people from expensive electricity. A plan for solarization of tube wells has also been started.
Agriculture is the backbone of the country’s economy. The CM Punjab launched the Kisan Card. Farmers will get an interest-free loan of 5 lakhs. The CM Punjab took other steps including the first Punjab Livestock Card, the first Farmer Guidance App, the Green Tractor Scheme, which are of utmost importance for the farmers and the agriculture sector. The biggest problem of the common man is inflation. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has established Sahulat Bazaar to provide relief to the people, where goods are available at lower prices than the market rate. The price of flour and bread has been reduced. The prices of food items have stabilized. A house remains a dream for the common man. Chief Minister has announced to build 3,000 houses for low-income people in every district through the Apna Gher , Apni Chat scheme. The Punjab Chief Minister has inaugurated the first electric bus service to promote environment friendliness. Plastic bags have been banned in connection with anti-smog measures. Fitness certificates have been made mandatory for all vehicles. The production, sale and trade of plastic have also been banned to reduce environmental pollution. Minority cards have been issued for interfaith harmony. Asaan Karobar scheme has been launched to empower the youth, under which interest-free loans ranging from Rs 1 million to Rs 30 million can be obtained. This scheme is commendable for eliminating unemployment and improving the economy. For the first time, the process of cleaning villages along with cities is also underway under the Suthra Punjab Program. Under this project, more than 125,000 people will get employment.
Under the Punjab Dhee Rani Program, mass marriages are being held for deserving families across the province. Under this program, not only financial assistance is being provided, but people are also being provided with the facility to celebrate their weddings in a dignified manner. On the special instructions of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a strict crackdown was carried out against kite flyers and kite sellers this year. With the approval of the Kite Flying Prohibition Amendment Bill 2024 by the Punjab Assembly, kite flying has been completely banned in the province. An operation is underway across the province against illegal encroachments without discrimination. The public has termed this operation a welcome move. The construction of 700 roads will be completed across Punjab this year. Development works are underway across Punjab. Violation of one dish in marriages creates a financial burden on parents who cannot afford it. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to ensure strict implementation of the one dish ban across the province.
It has been decided to introduce “Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services”. Integrated tasks on health-related issues will be completed through “Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services”. Punjab’s first comprehensive tourist policy has also been prepared. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the Magnificent Punjab mega tourist project, under which Punjab will be made a regional and international center of civilization and tourism. Mapping of all historical sites has been completed to convert 170 historical sites of Punjab into world-class tourist centers.For the first time in the history of Punjab, a new drainage system will be introduced in all major cities.
