Cyle Larin Goal vs Bosnia Saves Canada in World Cup Opener

Cyle Larin Goal vs Bosnia Gives Canada Their First World Cup Home Point

Canada’s – (Web Desk) – Canada made history on home soil, but it nearly ended in heartbreak. The co-hosts were staring at defeat until a Cyle Larin goal vs Bosnia in the 79th minute pulled them back to level at 1–1 in their Group B opener.

The Canadians controlled the ball for most of the match and created plenty of scoring chances. But despite all that pressure, they couldn’t find the back of the net when it mattered most.

Bosnia and Herzegovina caught Canada cold in the 21st minute. Jovo Lukic broke the deadlock with a sucker-punch goal from a set-piece, leaving the home crowd stunned.

Jesse Marsch left striker Cyle Larin on the bench to start the game. The Southampton forward wasn’t happy about it — but he let his feet do the talking. Just minutes after coming on as a substitute, Larin turned sharply and fired a clinical shot into the net.

“I want to play every game,” Larin said after the match. “But sometimes you don’t have control. I just have to show what I can do when I get my chance — and I showed that today.”

Defender Alistair Johnston credited the home fans for helping turn the tide. “It felt like they pulled that ball into the net for us,” he said. “We’re going to need this crowd with us.”

Canada now shifts focus to their next game against Qatar in Vancouver on June 18. One point on the board and the home fans firmly behind them — the co-hosts are just getting started.
