Cristiano Ronaldo’s Late Penalty Secures 2-1 Win for Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo made a decisive impact with a late penalty, securing a 2-1 win for Al-Nassr over Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League.

The game began at a slow pace, with Al-Nassr looking out of sync and fatigued after the international break. Al-Shabab appeared more energized, and a brilliant save from Bento denied Mohammed Al-Thani an early chance, keeping Al-Nassr in contention.

The first half remained quiet until Aymeric Laporte opened the scoring in the 69th minute, sparking both teams’ competitive spirit. Following the goal, Al-Shabab gained momentum, and manager Pioli brought on Ali Alhassan for Otavio in a tactical switch. However, Alhassan’s failed clearance in the final minute led to an own goal, bringing Al-Shabab level and frustrating his coach.

Just when it seemed the match was heading for a draw, Robert Renan committed a reckless foul on Abdulrahman Ghareeb in the box, earning Al-Nassr a penalty.

Ronaldo calmly converted the penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time, marking his sixth goal of the season.

The tension continued as Al-Shabab’s Mohamed Simakan was shown a red card for a foul on Nader Al-Sharari, leading to another penalty. Abderrazak Hamdallah stepped up to take the kick but struck the woodwork, sealing the victory for Al-Nassr as they kept pace with Al-Hilal in the league standings.
