Controversy over political appointments in Sindh colleges
Junior teachers promoted over seniors spark controversy in Sindh colleges
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Concerns have emerged over alleged politically influenced appointments in government colleges across Sindh, raising questions about merit and seniority in the education sector.
Reports indicate that while senior teachers in grade-19 are still waiting for their rightful postings, junior faculty members in grades 17 and 18 are being given key administrative roles by college administrations.
In one government girls’ college, a grade-17 teacher has reportedly been assigned the role of college in-charge. A similar situation has been observed at Government Girls’ College Tando Adam, where a grade-18 teacher has been elevated to the position of principal.

The same pattern has also been reported at Government Girls College Naushero Feroze, further intensifying concerns among educators about fairness and transparency in appointments.
The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) has strongly opposed these decisions, stating that appointing junior teachers over senior candidates is unacceptable.
The association has urged the Sindh Education Minister to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure merit-based appointments. SPLA has also warned that it may resume protests if the issue is not addressed promptly.
