COMSTECH Introduces Midwifery Training Program to Improve Tharparkar Maternal Healthcare

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – COMSTECH, in partnership with The University of Modern Sciences, has launched an Advanced Midwifery Clinical Skills Training Program to improve maternal and newborn healthcare in Tharparkar. The initiative targets female candidates from underserved areas, particularly Taluka Chachro and Dahili, including certified midwives and students awaiting final exam results.

The training will be conducted at Indus Medical College Hospital from mid-April to the end of May 2026. This fully funded program covers tuition, accommodation, and meals, highlighting a strong commitment to strengthening healthcare capacity in remote regions. Applications are open until March 31, 2026.

The program focuses on enhancing clinical expertise in safe delivery practices, improving emergency maternal and neonatal care, promoting community awareness on maternal and child health, and building skills in nutrition and emergency response. The initiative follows a recent medical camp in Chachro, where a critical shortage of skilled maternal healthcare providers was identified.

He further reiterated COMSTECH’s commitment to expanding such impactful programs across marginalized regions of Pakistan and other OIC member states.
