Rain, Snow Cause Cold Weather, Motorway Closures Across Punjab

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Rain and snowfall over the mountains in Pakistan’s northern regions and Balochistan have intensified cold conditions, while dense fog led to the closure of several motorway sections in Punjab on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV.

Motorway Closures
Authorities closed the M-11 motorway connecting Lahore to Sialkot due to thick fog, as well as the stretch from Faizpur to Sammundri. The Motorway Police (MP) advised motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution.

Rain and Snowfall Grip Pakistan as Weather System Enters

Meanwhile, rainfall was reported in Quetta, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, and Pishin, with snow covering the hilly areas.

Weather in Islamabad
The federal capital will experience cold and partly cloudy weather over the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 5°C, with no rainfall expected.

Lahore Weather
Fog reduced visibility in Lahore on Sunday morning. The minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C, with a light breeze blowing at 4 km/h. Humidity levels stood at 83 percent. Lahore also emerged as the sixth most polluted city globally, with an AQI of 183.

Forecast
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall for different parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) until February 4.
