China-Pakistan Children’s Art Exhibition Opens in Islamabad, Celebrating Peace and Friendship

The event underscores the enduring China-Pakistan friendship and a shared commitment to a peaceful, prosperous future.

Islamabad – A vibrant exhibition of children’s artwork opened yesterday at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), celebrating peace and cultural exchange between China and Pakistan. Titled “Join Hands to Commemorate and Paint Peace Together,” the exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The event, hosted by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan and organized by the Pakistan Association for Chinese Language Education, brought together over 200 guests, including diplomats, government officials, teachers, students, and members of civil society.

In his opening address, Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, emphasized the importance of honoring history and those who sacrificed for peace and freedom. “By engaging children through art, we nurture the values of peace, friendship, and solidarity,” he said. “We hope future generations inherit a world built on mutual respect and cooperation.”

Mr. Shi Yuanqiang, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, highlighted the shared historical legacy of China and Pakistan in resisting fascism. “Our nations stood together for world peace then, and we must continue to stand united today,” he remarked. “Through these children’s creations, we preserve memory, promote peace, and strengthen the bond of friendship.”

The exhibition showcases 300 works, including paintings, calligraphy, paper-cuttings, and AI-generated art, all created by Chinese and Pakistani children. After its five-day run in Islamabad, the exhibition will travel to the University of Punjab for a touring display, further enhancing cultural and people-to-people ties between the two nations.
