Lahore-Chicken and Vegetable Prices Fall in Lahore. The Lahore district administration has stepped up its efforts to control market prices, leading to a significant decrease in the cost of chicken and certain vegetables.
Following recent inspections, the price of chicken meat has been reduced to Rs552 per kilogram.
In the past 24 hours, officials conducted inspections at 980 locations throughout Lahore. This intense scrutiny resulted in three cases being registered, three arrests, and fines totaling Rs800,000 imposed for 153 infractions.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Syed Musa Raza highlighted that the administration is taking stringent measures against price violations.

In addition to the drop in chicken prices, there have been changes in vegetable prices. Peas have become cheaper, falling by Rs20 from Rs340 to Rs320 per kilogram. However, onions have experienced a slight increase, with prices rising by Rs5 to Rs145 per kilogram.
Prices for other key vegetables like potatoes and tomatoes have remained stable, with potatoes priced at Rs85 per kilogram and tomatoes at Rs100 per kilogram.
Prices of Essential Commodities Fall in Lahore Markets
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) welcomed the recent drop in vegetable prices, stating that these adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to ease the financial burden on citizens. He reassured the public that the administration is diligently working to monitor and regulate market prices to curb inflation and protect consumers from unfair practices.
A few days prior, the district administration had issued a notification announcing a price hike for several essential food items, including lentils, black gram, and besan, while reducing the prices of some rice varieties and daal masoor by Rs25 per kilogram.
According to the updated price list, significant increases were noted for daal chana, black gram, and besan. The price of daal chana rose from Rs280 to Rs330 per kilogram, and the cost of special daal chana increased from Rs305 to Rs360 per kilogram. Black gram saw a Rs40 increase, with prices climbing from Rs305 to Rs345 per kilogram. Besan, another key staple, was raised by Rs40, going from Rs300 to Rs340 per kilogram.
