Celebrity Makeup Artist Hung Vanngo Shares Five Tips for Round Faces

Hung Vanngo Reveals Five Makeup Tricks to Define Round Faces

NEW YORK: (News Desk) – Celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo, known for working with stars including Selena Gomez, has shared his most effective makeup techniques for defining and contouring round facial features.

In a recent YouTube video, Vanngo explained that round faces naturally have soft and youthful characteristics, but carefully applied makeup can add dimension and create a more balanced, lifted appearance.

Rather than using harsh contour lines, his technique focuses on highlighting the centre of the face while creating soft, gradually blended shadows around the outer edges.

Vanngo outlined five key principles for achieving a naturally sculpted look.

Dual-Shade Foundation:
Vanngo recommends keeping two shades of the same foundation on hand throughout the year. By mixing the shades in different proportions, users can achieve a more precise match to their skin tone as it changes with the seasons, avoiding an overly flat or mask-like finish.

Centre-Focused Concealer:
He suggests using an under-eye concealer around two shades lighter than the natural complexion and applying it to areas including the nose, corners of the mouth and centre of the chin. The lighter areas help draw visual attention toward the middle of the face, creating an impression of greater length and definition.

Soft Perimeter Contour:
Instead of creating sharp contour lines, Vanngo uses cream products beneath the cheekbones, along the jawline and around the hairline. Blending the product softly creates subtle depth while maintaining the natural curves of the face.

Warmth With Powder Bronzer:
For additional definition, Vanngo recommends applying powder bronzer over the areas already treated with cream contour. The technique adds warmth while reinforcing the sculpted effect.

Higher Blush Placement:
Applying blush slightly higher on the cheekbones can help create a lifted appearance. For a softer and more youthful effect, blush can instead be placed closer to the apples of the cheeks.

Vanngo’s approach focuses on subtle blending and strategic placement rather than heavy contouring, helping enhance the natural shape of a round face while maintaining a fresh finish.
