Field Marshal Munir Showcases Pakistan Armed Forces’ Technology-Driven Modernization

RAWALPINDI: (Web Desk) – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing a significant transformation across multiple domains by rapidly integrating advanced technology.

As per an ISPR statement issued on Thursday, the Field Marshal visited Bahawalpur Garrison, where he received detailed briefings on operational, training, and administrative activities of the Corps, with special emphasis on preparations for multi-domain warfare.

During his visit, the COAS and CDF observed a high-intensity field exercise, “Steadfast Resolve,” at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT), which showcased the integration of cutting-edge technologies including unmanned aerial systems (drones), advanced surveillance tools, electronic warfare assets, and modern command-and-control mechanisms, reflecting the Armed Forces’ focus on technology-driven multi-domain operations.

Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir lauded their morale, professionalism, and operational readiness. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all threats. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high readiness to address future battlefield and security challenges.

The COAS highlighted that the character of warfare is evolving rapidly due to technological advancements, which require a corresponding transformation in mindset at all levels. He noted that future operations will increasingly rely on technological maneuvers rather than traditional physical maneuvers. “Pakistan Armed Forces are embracing and absorbing technology at a fast pace, with innovation, indigenization, and adaptation as the core principles of this transformation,” he said.

In addition to operational matters, the Field Marshal inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP), designed to promote digital skills and learning opportunities for students, particularly from Southern Punjab and across the country. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, underscoring the Army’s commitment to quality education and character development.

During his visit to the EME Regional Workshop, he was briefed on the maintenance systems required to sustain modern platforms using advanced technologies, indigenization, and other combat support measures.

Upon his arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, the COAS and CDF was welcomed by the Commander of Bahawalpur Corps. The Field Marshal also paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offering Fateha, honoring their supreme sacrifices.

This visit underscores the Pakistan Army’s focus on technological modernization, education, and operational readiness, ensuring the armed forces remain capable of addressing emerging threats and future challenges.
