CDA to Replace Wild Mulberry Trees to Combat Pollen Allergies

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced the removal of over 10,000 wild mulberry trees in Islamabad to address severe pollen allergy issues faced by residents every spring. The decision was made following a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, with environmental experts and senior officials in attendance.

Experts highlighted that pollen from the wild mulberry trees is a significant cause of respiratory allergies and asthma in Islamabad, particularly in February and March. The CDA has ordered the replacement of these trees with eco-friendly indigenous plant species to improve air quality and reduce allergy-related health problems.

The move is expected to bring substantial health benefits to the residents of the capital, as the replacement of these trees with three new plant species will help mitigate the effects of pollen allergies.
