Car Crash at Imambargah DHA Phase 6 Karachi Leaves 11 Hurt

Karachi – (Web Desk) – A car crash at Imambargah, DHA Phase 6 Karachi shocked residents on Sunday night when a speeding vehicle lost control and ploughed into a religious gathering tent near Saba Avenue.

The car first hit several people walking on the road before tearing through the canopy set up outside the imambargah. Witnesses said bystanders scrambled to safety as the vehicle ripped through the structure.

Injured Toll Rises to 11

Police initially reported five people hurt, but the number climbed to 11 as more victims were brought in for treatment through the evening.

SSP South Mehzor Ali confirmed that the driver, along with two other individuals, was taken into custody shortly after the crash.

Security camera footage captured the car speeding onto the road before losing control. The timestamp on the video shows the crash took place at 9:26pm.

The footage clearly shows the vehicle first striking pedestrians and then crashing into the tent of the religious gathering.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and asked the Additional Inspector General of Police for a full report.

He was told that the car’s brakes had apparently failed, leaving the driver with no control over the vehicle. The CM directed authorities to impound the car and ensure the driver was arrested immediately.

He also ordered a full inquiry into the cause of the accident and prayed for the quick recovery of all those injured.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have launched an investigation to find out whether the crash was caused by brake failure or driver negligence. Officers are reviewing evidence and witness accounts to determine what went wrong.
