Bushra Bibi shifted to hospital last night, says PTI chairman.

Bushra Bibi – (Web Desk) – Bushra Bibi was taken to a hospital from jail late last night. She is the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan. Party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan shared this news on Friday.

Gohar posted the update on the social platform X. He said the party was told about the transfer of the former first lady. He has asked for immediate family access to see both of them.

The PTI leader also repeated the call to move Imran Khan to a hospital. He said he got a late-night message about Bushra Bibi’s hospitalization. He is still waiting for a full briefing on her care.

Gohar stressed that medical care and family visits are basic legal rights. He said the public is very worried about their wellbeing.

Imran Khan has been in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail since August 2023. He faces several legal charges there. His health and prison conditions remain a major dispute with the government.

Khan’s lawyers have told the Supreme Court about a serious eye condition. He has been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion. This vein blockage can cause major vision loss.

It is often tied to heart health issues like high blood pressure or diabetes. Khan has reported losing most of the sight in his right eye.

Medical records show he has had several eye treatments at Pims hospital. Doctors have given him injections to reduce swelling in the retina. They have also checked his heart health during those visits.

His last hospital trip was in March for another eye procedure. Doctors said his vision looked okay after that exam. A special medical board also checked him at the jail recently.

This was done on orders from the Islamabad High Court. The court refused requests to send him to a private hospital. However, it did order officials to set up a team to watch over his health.

The situation is tense because a ban on jail meetings has been in place since late 2025. The information minister confirmed this restriction.

The PTI recently planned a rally for Khan’s release this month. They put it on hold because of high-level diplomatic talks happening in Islamabad. These talks involve the United States and Iran peace process.
