Eye Surgery Last Month, Another Visit This Week

Last month, Bushra Bibi had surgery at a Rawalpindi hospital after being diagnosed with retinal detachment in her right eye. Doctors had advised the procedure. This latest hospital trip, PTI says, appears to have been a follow-up — though authorities have confirmed nothing officially.

PTI Demands Straight Answers

The party raised a series of direct questions. Which hospital was she taken to? Which doctors examined her? What tests were done? Why was she sent back to jail instead of being kept under proper medical care?

“If there is nothing to hide, then tell the nation the truth,” PTI said. The party is calling for a full, independent, and transparent health report to be shared with both her family and the public.

Concerns About Her Treatment in Jail

PTI says Bushra Bibi has been kept in solitary confinement for months. She has been denied access to her own doctors. Family visits have been restricted. Medical information has been kept confidential. The party describes this as a clear violation of her basic human and medical rights.

“It is deeply troubling that a female prisoner — and the wife of a former prime minister — is being denied rights that every citizen deserves,” the party stated.

Omar Ayub Speaks Out

PTI leader Omar Ayub condemned the overnight hospital transfer in strong terms. He pointed out that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had no health issues before being jailed, yet both have now developed serious eye problems while imprisoned.

“This fact alone is extremely alarming,” he said, adding that Imran Khan is also being denied access to his lawyers, family, and doctors.

The party has laid out clear demands:

• Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan should both be shifted to Shifa International Hospital
• Her personal physicians must be granted immediate and unrestricted access
