Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan hospitalised ahead of IPL 2024 playoff

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was admitted to KD Hospital in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 21, after suffering from dehydration.

The actor, who had come to Ahmedabad to support his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), during the IPL 2024 playoffs, was discharged after receiving primary treatment and is now stable.

The incident occurred following the play-off match between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Shah Rukh Khan had arrived in Ahmedabad two days prior to the match, eager to cheer for his team. After the match, he returned to the ITC Narmada Hotel in Ahmedabad, where he and the team received a grand welcome.

However, the next morning, Khan’s condition worsened. At around 1 pm, he was taken to KD Hospital, where doctors treated him for dehydration. The severe heat in Ahmedabad, with temperatures soaring to around 45 degrees Celsius, likely contributed to his condition. The Meteorological Department had even issued a red alert for the city due to the intense heat.

Doctors at KD Hospital confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan’s health is now stable and have advised him to take adequate rest. The Bollywood star’s hospitalization due to dehydration highlights the severe weather conditions in many parts of India, including Gujarat’s capital, Ahmedabad.

Shah Rukh Khan, beloved by millions of fans worldwide, is known for his dedication to his work and his love for cricket. His presence at IPL matches always adds to the excitement, and his fans were concerned about his health.
