Blood Found on Humaira Asghar’s Clothes, Cause of Death Still Unknown

Humaira, originally from Lahore, had been living in Karachi and had rented the flat in 2018.

KARACHI – The final medico-legal report of model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was found in a flat in Defence Phase 6, has raised serious questions and suspicions surrounding her mysterious death.

According to the report, blood stains were discovered on Humaira Asghar’s T-shirt and trousers, and DNA traces were also found on her clothing. However, the cause of death could not be determined because the body was severely decomposed and only skeletal remains were recovered. Due to the absence of complete organs, forensic experts were unable to establish how she died.

Sources stated that there is no central database for matching blood or DNA, which further hampers the investigation. Police officials also revealed that one of Humaira’s mobile phones is still missing, which could have played a critical role in the investigation if recovered and analyzed.

Background:

Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered on July 8 from a flat in Ittehad Commercial area, after a court bailiff broke into the apartment. The landlord had approached the court due to non-payment of rent, which led to the forced entry.

According to the initial postmortem report, the body was in the final stage of decomposition, suggesting that she died around 8 to 10 months ago. The lower half of her body had completely decomposed, leaving little physical evidence behind.

Humaira, originally from Lahore, had been living in Karachi and had rented the flat in 2018. She reportedly stopped paying rent in 2024, prompting legal action from the landlord.

Police are continuing their investigation, but the lack of physical evidence, missing phone, and absence of a DNA database have made progress difficult. The case remains unsolved, with more questions than answers about how and why the actress died in such tragic and mysterious circumstances.
