Bilawal Bhutto Condemns U.S. Arms Use in Afghanistan, Warns of Terrorism Impact in Pakistan
LARKANA: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto has delivered a compelling message, emphasizing the detrimental impact of empowering an individual for the fourth time, stating that it would result in losses for the public.
Speaking at an event in Naudero, Bilawal Bhutto expressed concern that the propagation of divisive and hate-filled politics would harm both Pakistan and its people. He questioned the confidence of the public in Pakistan’s politicians, political parties, and the government, urging reflection on their satisfaction.
Highlighting the rising threat of terrorism, Bilawal Bhutto pledged to eradicate this menace, asserting that the nation needs to respond to the challenges posed by extremist ideologies. He emphasized the need to answer the heinous acts of terrorism committed in the country, recalling the sacrifices of his family, including the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and attacks on the PPP and APS.
Bilawal Bhutto also reflected on his late mother, paying tribute to Benazir Bhutto’s legacy and commitment to countering terrorism. He affirmed that the PPP and its supporters have consistently confronted terrorist organizations, even facing attacks on their leadership and party offices.
Addressing the broader geopolitical scenario, Bilawal Bhutto criticized the usage of arms by the United States in Afghanistan, asserting that weapons previously utilized against the Taliban are now in the possession of terrorist organizations in Pakistan.
Looking ahead, Bilawal Bhutto declared his intention to end the politics of hatred and division on February 8. He expressed the determination to form a people’s government, steering Pakistan away from political and constitutional crises.
In a final note, Bilawal Bhutto clarified that their struggle is not against any political party or individual but against poverty, unemployment, and inflation. He questioned the accomplishments of leaders like Shahbaz Sharif and Imran Khan in their respective constituencies, emphasizing the need for real solutions to these critical issues.
While the Sindh govt bans display of weapons ahead of elections
The Sindh Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province, effectively banning any display of weapons for 45 days as the general elections draw closer.
According to a notification issued in this regard on Tuesday, the ban on display of arms enforced on the recommendation of Sindh inspector general of police.
Personnel of law-enforcement agencies and police are exempted from this ban.
Guards belonging to registered private security companies can carry weapons only at their job sites in Sindh.

As per the notification, station house officers have been issued instructions in this regard, directed them to lodge FIRs against anyone found involved in violating ban on display of arms.
The General Elections are scheduled for February 8th, 2024. Preparations are currently in full swing, with the Sindh government and ECP working in tandem to ensure a peaceful and orderly election. The ban on weapons and the increased security measures for the election process reflect their commitment to this goal.
