Bilawal Vows Legal Fight to Reclaim PPP Seats After AJK Election Results Mirpur

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari demands probe into AJK polls, warns against boycotting phase two

Pakistan Peoples Party – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The PPP AJK election results Mirpur have triggered a fresh political storm, with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari vowing to win back every seat his party lost. He says he will use legal and constitutional paths to do this. He also wants a full probe into claims of vote rigging during the first round of voting.

The final count showed PML-N winning nine seats. PPP took only four out of thirteen seats in the Mirpur division. PPP leaders have slammed how the vote was run. PML-N, on the other hand, denies any wrongdoing took place.

Speaking to reporters late Wednesday in Muzaffarabad, Bilawal made bold claims. He said his party has proof that some polling stations recorded a turnout of 99 percent. That number, he argued, is simply not believable. He also claimed that thirty polling stations were taken over during voting.

Bilawal made it clear his party won’t sit back and watch its votes get taken away. He said PPP will fight to win back every seat it feels it lost unfairly.

He also stressed a simple point. Kashmir’s future should be decided by its own people, not outside forces. He said PPP already has answers to the region’s biggest problems.

The PPP chief hopes his party’s concerns get addressed soon. Phase two of voting is set for August 2, and he wants issues fixed before then. He also asked the Election Commission to step in quickly and look into the claims of unfair voting.

Bilawal did add one fair point. If an inquiry finds AJK’s prime minister at fault, PPP will accept the outcome and take responsibility.

He then called for something bigger than just an inquiry. Bilawal asked all political sides to help build a truth and reconciliation commission. This group would study the claims and share an honest report. Until that work is done, he asked everyone to pause any new protests.

Bilawal also raised a local issue that’s been bothering residents. He asked authorities to turn internet services back on in Muzaffarabad so people can stay connected.

Interestingly, Bilawal did not support the idea of skipping the second round of voting. He warned that a boycott would only help those accused of cheating. It would give them more room to control the results without pushback.

He used a sharp line to make his point. If PPP walks away, he said, the region’s next government would basically be chosen from Raiwind instead of from Kashmir itself. That’s a clear jab at PML-N’s political base.

Bilawal also touched on a sensitive comment. He said Kashmiris felt hurt after some PML-N leaders questioned whether people from Rawalakot were truly Kashmiri.

He ended with a warning of his own. People, he said, will reject any side that tries to win through fear or force. And if PPP ever refuses to accept an election outcome, he said, the state should take that moment seriously.
