Bilawal Criticizes PML-N’s Alleged Shift Away from Democratic Principles
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Expresses Confidence in Democratic Process Ahead of Elections.
Islamabad (Staff Reporter): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has reiterated his commitment to the democratic process, expressing confidence in the integrity of upcoming elections despite alleged pressures on the administration by the opposition.
In a conversation with an American media outlet, Bilawal Bhutto voiced concerns over what he perceives as biased treatment towards former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the incumbent government and administration. He highlighted the challenges faced by his party in forming an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), stating that cooperation with the latter has become increasingly difficult.
Regarding the political landscape, Bilawal Bhutto remarked that the PML-N has deviated from its democratic principles, now prioritizing loyalty over respect for the vote. He criticized recent developments where Nawaz Sharif’s pressure reportedly led to the inclusion of Raja Riyaz in the PML-N’s electoral lineup.
Despite these challenges, Bilawal Bhutto expressed hope that the current government will refrain from meddling in the electoral process and expressed confidence that the PPP will succeed in forming the government.
Addressing the situation in Sindh, where supporters are reportedly being detained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Bilawal Bhutto expressed optimism that efforts to divide the PML-N politically will fail.
Highlighting the need for stability in politics, Bilawal Bhutto emphasized that politicians must take the lead in reducing the establishment’s role in political affairs and keeping political disagreements within the realm of politics.
Commenting on the recent May 9 incident, Bilawal Bhutto stated that it was entirely unrelated to politics and underscored the importance of establishing rules for political conduct.
He further called for transparency in the electoral process, urging for fair and transparent elections to be conducted to ensure the country’s progress and development.

I have great love for Murree; it’s like a second home to me. There’s hardly any other place like Murree left, as much as there is in Murree.”
Addressing a gathering in Murree, Nawaz Sharif mentioned that it had been many years since he had addressed the people of Murree directly, expressing regret over being distanced from them. “It’s unfortunate what has become of this country after my departure.
