Bangladesh crush Pakistan by 7 wickets in ICC Women’s World Cup

Bangladesh Women defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the ICC Women’s World Cup match held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 130 runs set by Pakistan, Bangladesh reached the target in the 32nd over for the loss of three wickets. Rubya Haider was the top scorer with 54 runs. For Pakistan, Fatima Sana, Diana Baig and Rameen Shamim took one wicket each.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan were bowled out for 129 runs in 38.3 overs.

After the match, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana said that the early wickets in the opening overs changed the course of the game. She added that the Green Shirts would try to recover in the upcoming matches. The pitch offered more assistance to fast bowlers, she said.
