Bangladesh clinches U-19 Asia Cup Title as India Faces three major defeats in one day

Dubai: Cricket Again Report – India faced a triple humiliation in international cricket on the same day, with Bangladesh emerging as the champions of the Under-19 Asia Cup after defeating India by 59 runs in the final. This loss marked India’s third major defeat on the day.

The sequence of setbacks for India began in the morning, when they suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat to Australia in Adelaide. This loss leveled the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series 1-1, with the third Test set to be played in Brisbane.

The second blow came later in the day when the Australian women’s cricket team triumphed over India by 122 runs in the second One-Day International in Brisbane. Australia posted a massive 371 runs for 8, and India was dismissed for 249 runs in the 45th over, suffering a comprehensive defeat.

The third and final embarrassment occurred in the evening during the Under-19 Asia Cup final between India and Sri Lanka in Dubai. Sri Lanka batted first and scored 198 runs, losing all their wickets in 49.1 overs. No Sri Lankan batsman could score a half-century, and India’s bowling attack, which saw eight different bowlers in action, failed to dominate, with no bowler claiming more than two wickets.

In reply, India’s Under-19 team seemed to have a manageable target of 199 runs, but the chase quickly fell apart. Half of India’s team was dismissed for just 73 runs, and by the time they reached 92, seven players were already back in the pavilion. Captain Mohammad Aman showed some resistance, scoring 26 runs, but no other player could contribute significantly. India was bowled out for just 139 runs in 35.2 overs, handing Bangladesh a 59-run victory and crowning them as the Under-19 Asia Cup champions.

In an unfortunate day for Indian cricket, the Under-19 Asia Cup defeat rounded off a series of humiliating losses, underlining the challenges faced by India across various formats on this day.
