Balochistan Dismisses 72 More Doctors Over Persistent Absenteeism

AI-Based Monitoring System Leads to Dismissal of 72 Doctors

Quetta: (News Desk) – The Balochistan government has dismissed another 72 doctors from service for persistent absenteeism following the introduction of an artificial intelligence-based monitoring system, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said on Saturday.

The latest dismissals have taken the total number of doctors removed from service over unauthorised absence to 200, the chief minister said.

Bugti added that Rs410 million had also been deducted from the salaries of doctors and paramedical staff for remaining absent from duty and violating disciplinary rules.

He further said the provincial government had sought explanations from 11,000 government employees for allegedly evading their duties, while departmental proceedings were underway against another 800 employees.

The chief minister stressed that government employees were responsible for serving the public and must perform their duties with honesty and dedication.

He said the government would not allow employees to draw salaries while remaining absent from their workplaces, adding that absenteeism would not be tolerated.
