Islamabad: Former Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam is on the verge of breaking a major record held by Imran Khan, as he eyes surpassing the legendary all-rounder’s tally of runs in Test matches against the West Indies.
Imran Khan, who scored 1,977 runs against the West Indies, holds the fifth spot for the most runs by a Pakistani player in Tests. Babar Azam has already accumulated 1,676 runs against the West Indies, leaving him just 302 runs short of surpassing Imran Khan’s record.
The middle-order batsman could make history in the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies. The first match of the two-test series, part of the World Test Championship, is set to begin on January 17 in Multan.
