Babar Azam Equals Shahid Afridi’s Unwanted T20I Record

ISLAMABAD: Babar Azam, who made his return to the national T20 squad, equaled former captain Shahid Afridi’s unwanted record during the first T20I against South Africa.

After facing just two deliveries, Babar was dismissed for a duck by Corbin Bosch, marking the eighth time he has been out without scoring in a T20 International match. Previously, Shahid Afridi held the same record with eight ducks in T20Is. With this, Babar has joined Afridi in third place among Pakistani players with the most ducks in T20 Internationals.

Other Pakistani players on this list include Saim Ayub, Umar Akmal, and Kamran Akmal.

In the first match of the three-game series, South Africa batted first and set a target of 195 runs. In reply, Pakistan’s batting lineup failed to deliver, and the team was bowled out for 139 runs in the 19th over.
