LAHORE: Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari expressed deep concerns on Friday over Pakistan’s rapidly growing population, calling it a “serious alarm” for the country.
Speaking on the issue, Bokhari pointed out that while other Islamic nations have successfully implemented family planning measures, Pakistan has not made significant progress in this area. She also highlighted the critical issue of insufficient focus on providing quality education for children, which continues to be a major challenge.
Bokhari emphasized the need for setting national priorities to address key issues, stressing that collective efforts are essential for Pakistan’s advancement. She also highlighted the importance of enforcing relevant laws, specifically condemning early marriages of young girls in Punjab.
