SYDNEY: Australia have announced a 12-member squad for the Boxing Day Test of the Ashes series, set to begin on December 26 in Melbourne.
The Australian team will take the field with an all-pace attack, as no specialist spinner has been included in the announced squad. The final playing XI will be confirmed on the morning of the match, with two players to be selected from Jhye Richardson, Michael Neser, and Brendan Doggett. Off-spinner Todd Murphy has been left out of the 12-man squad, while Josh Inglis has also not been included.

In the absence of regular captain Pat Cummins, Steven Smith will lead the side after recovering from illness. Star batter Usman Khawaja retains his place and is set to bat at number five, while Cameron Green has been pushed down to number seven due to poor form.
The Boxing Day Test is one of the most anticipated matches of the Ashes series, with Australia opting for a pace-heavy strategy on home conditions.
