ISLAMABAD: Audit Exposes Rs 75 Crore in Financial Irregularities at Islamabad Club,A recent audit report by the Auditor General of Pakistan has uncovered significant financial irregularities at the Islamabad Club, revealing a staggering Rs 75 crore in discrepancies. Despite the club suffering a loss of Rs 199.2 million in the fiscal year 2022-23, employees were controversially awarded bonuses totaling Rs 10 crore.
The audit highlights several areas of concern, including the illegal expenditure of Rs 30 crore on in-house schemes without proper estimation or measurement. Additionally, Rs 1.44 crore was spent on constructing a lake near the cricket ground, and Rs 1.61 crore was used for installing floodlights at the ground, both without open bidding.

Further issues were noted in the report, including the non-receipt of Rs 10.45 million in fees from club members and illegal procurement processes for civil works. Rs 93.6 million was spent on civil projects without design approval from the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and Rs 44 lakh was allocated for hiring consultants without competitive bidding.
