Asia Cup 2025: India Thrash UAE by 9 Wickets in One-Sided Contest

DUBAI: India began their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a dominant 9-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second match of the tournament, played in Dubai.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to field first. UAE struggled right from the start and were bowled out for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs.

For UAE, opener Alishan scored 22 runs while captain Waseem added 19. No other batter managed to reach double figures.

In response, India chased down the modest target of 58 runs in just 4.3 overs, losing only one wicket. Abhishek Sharma scored a quick 30 before being dismissed, while Shubman Gill (20*) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (7*) remained unbeaten to seal the win.

Both India and UAE are part of Group A in the Asia Cup. The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for September 14 in Dubai.
