ASAS International School Holds ‘You Matter’ Wellness Session for Parents
The initiative reflects ASAS International School's commitment to inclusive education and holistic development
ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – ASAS International School’s F-8 Campus has organised a wellness session titled “You Matter” to promote the emotional well-being of parents of children with diverse abilities and developmental needs.
Organised by the school’s Inclusive Education Department, the session highlighted the importance of parental self-care, emotional resilience and mental wellness in creating a healthy and supportive family environment.
Distinguished speakers Dr Muhammad Umar Fayaz and Dr Shagufta Jabeen shared insights into the emotional challenges faced by parents and discussed practical ways to manage stress, build resilience and maintain emotional balance.
The session provided parents with an opportunity to step away from their daily responsibilities, focus on their own well-being and participate in relaxation techniques, mindfulness exercises and interactive activities.
Speakers and organisers emphasised that parents often prioritise their children’s needs while overlooking their own emotional health. They highlighted the importance of recognising personal needs and maintaining emotional well-being as an essential part of providing effective care and support to children.
The event also underscored the need to foster empathy, understanding and support for families navigating different developmental challenges. Participants were encouraged to recognise that caring for themselves enables them to better support their children’s growth, confidence and overall well-being.
The initiative reflects ASAS International School’s commitment to inclusive education and holistic development. The school aims to extend its inclusive approach beyond students by engaging families and strengthening the partnership between educational institutions and parents.
The central message of the session, “You Matter,” highlighted that parents also deserve care, understanding and emotional support while managing their responsibilities.
Through initiatives of this kind, ASAS International School seeks to create a more supportive environment for families and promote the well-being of both children and their caregivers.
