Maryam Gifts Arshad Nadeem Rs100 Million and Exclusive ‘PAK 92.97’ Car
MIAN CHANNU: In a gesture of admiration for the national hero, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presented a cheque for Rs100 million and the keys to a Honda Civic with the custom number plate “PAK 92.97” to Olympian gold medallist Arshad Nadeem on Tuesday.
The Punjab Chief Minister delivered the generous reward at Nadeem’s home village in Mian Channu. While the government had previously announced a reward of Rs100 million, the addition of the car was a delightful extra.

Additionally, she presented a cheque of Rs5 million to Nadeem’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, and praised him for his outstanding training of the athlete.
On August 8, javelin superstar Arshad Nadeem ended Pakistan’s 40-year gold medal drought with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters, setting a new Olympic world record.
Upon arriving at Nadeem’s home, Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly embraced his mother, Razia Parveen, congratulating her on her son’s historic achievement. She then spent time conversing with her.
Nadeem’s family took selfies and photos with Maryam while the athlete reflected on his Olympic journey.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed that Nadeem’s victory had brought unprecedented joy to the nation. The event was also attended by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Special Assistant to the CM Zeeshan Malik, MPA Sania Ashiq, and other dignitaries.
In a separate gesture, Nadeem visited the Mian Channu Tableeghi Markaz, where he met celebrated scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel and received a reward of Rs0.5 million.
