Arshad Nadeem Calls for Job Opportunities for National Athletes
Islamabad-Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has emphasized the need for job opportunities for national athletes, stating that it would serve as a launchpad for their careers in professional sports. He made this appeal during a media talk in Islamabad, accompanied by his coach Salman Iqbal Butt and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
Nadeem, who made history at the 2024 Paris Games with a record-breaking javelin throw, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and ministers after being rewarded with Rs100 million by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for his Olympic win.
The 27-year-old athlete from Mian Channu stressed that providing jobs for athletes would be a significant encouragement, enabling them to focus on their sports careers. He hopes that all departments in the country will consider offering employment opportunities to national athletes.
Nadeem’s remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to Pakistan, marking the country’s first individual gold medal at the Olympics. His victory has sparked widespread celebrations, with fans greeting him with a hero’s welcome upon his return to Pakistan.
