AMMAN: Pakistan’s Arfan Dad has stormed into the semifinals of the ongoing Asian Heyball Championship after securing back-to-back victories against two Indian opponents in a single day.
In a dominant performance, Arfan defeated Shehbaz Adil Khan 7-3 in the pre-quarterfinals, followed by a nail-biting 7-6 win over Shivam Arora in the quarterfinals.
He will now face India’s Sandeep Gulati in the semifinal clash.

Heyball, also known as the Chinese version of 8-ball pool, varies from the traditional format primarily in table specifications and rules.
Pakistan had fielded two players in the championship — UK-based Arfan Dad and Nadeem Gill. However, Gill was knocked out in the Round of 32.
Arfan’s run has brought renewed attention to Pakistan’s growing presence in cue sports on the Asian stage.
