Apple AirPods Pro 3 Unveiled with Heart Rate Monitor and Live Translation

The AirPods Pro 3 feature a reengineered internal design that makes each earbud smaller and more stable.

Apple officially unveiled the AirPods Pro 3 at its September event, introducing major upgrades in sound quality, design, and health tracking. The latest generation delivers twice the active noise cancellation (ANC) performance of the AirPods Pro 2, extended battery life, and new features powered by Apple Intelligence.

Design and Comfort

The AirPods Pro 3 feature a reengineered internal design that makes each earbud smaller and more stable. Apple conducted over 10,000 ear scans and more than 100,000 hours of user testing to refine the fit. The ear tips are available in five sizes, designed for improved comfort and isolation. The earbuds are IP57 certified for dust and water resistance, offering greater durability during workouts and outdoor use.

ANC and Battery

Apple claims the AirPods Pro 3 deliver the best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones, thanks to the new foam ear tips and enhanced audio processing. Battery life has also improved significantly, offering eight hours of listening with ANC enabled, a 33% increase compared to the previous generation. Transparency mode has been upgraded to sound more natural, with up to ten hours of listening when activated.

Health and Fitness Features

For the first time, the AirPods Pro 3 include a built-in heart rate monitor capable of tracking over 50 workout types within the iOS Fitness app. Paired with Apple’s Workout Buddy, users receive personalized insights and motivational prompts during sessions. Fitness+ subscribers gain access to real-time performance metrics such as heart rate, calories burned, and progress updates directly on their iPhones.

Apple Intelligence

One of the standout features is Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence. Users can speak in their own language and have their words instantly translated for listeners with AirPods Pro 3. If the other person does not own AirPods, the iPhone can display live transcriptions and translate responses, delivering them back into the user’s language.
