ISLAMABAD: Another member of the Pakistan Rangers Punjab, Lance Naik Muhammad Tanveer, has tragically succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the violent protests on November 25 and 26. Tanveer, who was 37 years old and hailed from Narowal district, had been in a coma since the unrest, which caused severe damage to both life and property.
Tanveer, a dedicated soldier who served the nation for 17 years, leaves behind his wife, two sons, and three daughters. His death brings the total number of Rangers personnel killed in the protests to four, adding to the two Punjab Police officials who also lost their lives during the violence.
The protests, allegedly orchestrated by PTI workers, spiraled into chaos, with government buildings and assets targeted, looted, and set ablaze in multiple locations. In addition to the fatalities, at least 119 Punjab Police officers and 11 Islamabad Police officers were injured, many seriously.
