‘Anora’ Sweeps the 2025 Oscars as Full Winners List is Revealed

LOS ANGELES – The 97th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated the year’s finest achievements in cinema, with independent drama Anora emerging as the night’s biggest winner.

Anora took home multiple top honours, including Best Picture, Best Director for Sean Baker, Best Actress for Mikey Madison, and Best Original Screenplay. This sweeping victory highlighted the growing recognition of independent films at the Oscars.

Veteran actor Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his powerful performance in The Brutalist, while Zoe Saldaña received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Emilia Pérez, and Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in A Real Pain.

In some of the evening’s standout moments, I’m Still Here, a Brazilian film, won Best International Feature, edging out strong contenders from Denmark, France, Germany, and Latvia. Meanwhile, Flow, a bold animated feature, secured Best Animated Feature, defeating Pixar’s Inside Out 2.

The screenplay categories also saw some notable winners: Anora took home the Best Original Screenplay award, while Conclave by Peter Straughan won Best Adapted Screenplay. The Best Original Song award went to El Mal from Emilia Pérez, further highlighting the musical’s strong presence at the ceremony.

In the technical categories, Dune: Part Two triumphed in Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, while The Brutalist earned Best Cinematography and Best Original Score. Wicked, the highly anticipated musical, won Best Costume Design and Best Production Design, proving its grandeur on the big screen. The horror-thriller The Substance, starring Demi Moore, also received recognition with awards for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
