ANF Seizes 4.5kg Cocaine In Airport Bust
Pakistan-Qatar Joint Operation Foils Cocaine Smuggling At Islamabad Airport
Islamabad (Web Desk): Following the GCC Conference on Anti-Narcotics in April 2025, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in collaboration with Qatari authorities, conducted a joint intelligence-driven operation at Islamabad International Airport.
During the operation, a Pakistani female passenger, Sehrish Bano, traveling from Sharjah via Doha to Islamabad, was intercepted. A detailed search of her trolley bag uncovered 4.482 kilograms of cocaine, cleverly concealed to evade detection.
Interrogation revealed that her handler, waiting outside the arrival area, was connected to the intended recipient. Acting swiftly, the ANF apprehended the handler, Amir Asadullah, along with his vehicle.

Investigations indicated that the cocaine-laden bag had been handed to the suspect at Hamad International Airport by a Nigerian national, under instructions from UAE-based handlers. Both suspects, the recovered narcotics, and the vehicle are currently in custody, while joint investigations continue in Pakistan and Qatar.
This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of international intelligence sharing and cooperation in combating drug smuggling. Cocaine, a high-value and dangerous narcotic, has increasingly been trafficked into Pakistan, with smugglers exploiting women as carriers to bypass suspicion.
Despite resource constraints, the ANF continues to show vigilance and operational proficiency. The success of this coordinated action sends a strong message to smuggling networks that such activities will be detected and dismantled.
