KARACHI: U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, visited Karachi from December 17-18, 2024, underscoring the United States’ commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan in the areas of trade, investment, jobs, and education. The visit highlighted shared goals of economic growth, opportunity, and respect for human rights.

During a dinner with business leaders, Ambassador Blome emphasized the importance of expanding trade and investment between the two countries. He invited Pakistani businesspeople to participate in the upcoming SelectUSA 2025 Investment Summit, encouraging greater collaboration. “The United States is committed to supporting Pakistan’s economic development,” Blome said. “Our mutual prosperity depends on free, open, competitive markets where trade and investment can thrive.”

The Ambassador also met with human rights advocates at the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), reaffirming U.S. support for religious freedoms and civil rights in Pakistan. “The United States stands with Pakistan in its pursuit to safeguard the rights of all citizens,” Blome stated, praising the SHRC for its efforts to advance these crucial causes.

Ambassador Blome’s visit also included stops at the Urban Forest in Clifton and the U.S.-Pakistan Friendship Garden, where he planted a neem and a moringa tree.
