Rawalpindi: Allied Bank Stallions were crowned champions of the Bahria Town Champions T20 Cup after defeating UMT Markhors by 75 runs in the final held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

The match’s standout performance came from Stallions’ Yasser Khan, who scored a brilliant century. His innings helped the team set a challenging target of 200 runs for the Markhors.

Stallions’ captain Mohammad Haris won the toss and chose to bat first. The team posted a total of 199 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Yasser Khan played a key role, scoring 100 runs off 57 balls, including 5 fours and 7 sixes. This was his second T20 century. He was supported by Moazzam Sadaqat, who contributed 15 runs with two sixes, and Taib Tahir, who added 17 runs in a 74-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Mohammad Haris (21) and Hussain Talat (9) were dismissed earlier in the innings.

The Markhors were never in contention for the target as their batting collapsed under pressure. Despite Mohammad Faizan’s 43, the Markhors’ chase never gained momentum. Mohammad Ali and Jehandaad Khan’s bowling performances stifled their progress, and they were reduced to 85 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ali claimed 3 wickets for 19 runs, finishing the tournament with a remarkable 22 wickets, earning him the Player of the Tournament award.

The Markhors were dismissed for just 124 runs, with Ali’s tight bowling and support from Osman Tariq (2 wickets) and Jehandaad Khan (2 wickets) sealing their fate. The Markhors’ captain Iftikhar Ahmed was dismissed for 22 runs, effectively ending any chance of a comeback.
