MUZAFFARABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a four-day extension to the summer vacations for educational institutions located in the summer zone, providing students with additional holidays.
According to a notification issued by the Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education, all government and private educational institutions in the summer zone will remain closed from Monday, August 10, to Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The extended break will be followed by Independence Day on Friday, August 14, which is already a public holiday. Saturday and Sunday will then be regular weekly holidays.
As a result, students will receive several additional days off before educational institutions resume their regular activities.
The decision applies to both public and private educational institutions operating in AJK’s summer zone.
