FIR registered Against Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada, and Akbar Hussain booked for May 9 vandalism
Islamabad/Webdesk_ Retired Maj Adil Farooq Raja, a known YouTuber, has been arrested in London, it is learnt on Wednesday.
The former serviceman was taken into custody by the Scotland Yard in British city Luton.
According to information, Raja was summoned for questioning by the investigators for his alleged involvement in incitement to violence through YouTube and other social media platforms.
The platform has recently banned the former military officer’s channel for “spreading misinformation” through video streaming. Several cases have been registered against Raja in Pakistan on various charges.
A military veteran of 19 years, retired Maj Raja has a large following on social media platforms for his support to the PTI and critical views of the armed forces.
It may be recalled that Adil Raja, journalist Shaheen Sehbai, Haider Raza Mehdi and Wajahat Saeed Khan have been booked on terrorism and sedition charges.

The FIR was registered at Abpara Police Station under the charges of sedition and terrorism on the complaint of a citizen named Majid Mehmood.
The complainant claimed that the charged public stationed at the Melody area in the federal capital was taking instructions directly from the nominated suspects via video.
Cases have been registered against anchorpersons Sabir Shakir, Moeed Pirzada and Akbar Hussain for allegedly inciting people to violence on May 9.
PTI workers resorted to violent protests when the party chief was arrested on the Islamabad High Court premises on May 9. An FIR was registered by the Abpara police on the charges of sedition and terrorism on the complaint of a citizen, Majid Mehmood.
The complainant claimed that a violent crowd gathered in Melody area in the federal capital and was taking instructions directly from the nominated suspects via video. The suspects provoked innocent people via video messages and social media posts and were playing the role of instruments of foreign anti-state agencies, he added.
“Rebellion and chaos were spread in the country by attacking military installations,” the FIR stated.
