ABBOTTABAD: The kidnapping and murder of a lady doctor from Abbottabad has sparked outrage over the alleged professional negligence of local police officials.
Sardar Tariq Khan described doctors as “the saviors of the nation” due to their service to humanity, emphasizing the gravity of the loss.
According to reports, the victim, a mother of two and a respected doctor, was kidnapped from Abbottabad Cantt. Police officials, including DSP Tahir Saleem, SHO Cantt, Sub-Inspector Zubair Tanoli, and PR Officer Azam Mir, have been criticized for their lack of professionalism, failure to use modern technology, and overall disinterest, which allegedly contributed to the tragedy.
The Abbottabad police public relations department and the concerned SDPO reportedly provided misleading information to the public regarding the kidnapping, further aggravating the situation.
The incident has instilled fear among the local population, particularly women, in what is usually considered a peaceful city.
Details indicate that the doctor was abducted by the wife of the well-known Kashmir Cloth owner, Waheed, along with three accomplices. They allegedly took her to the jurisdiction of Bakot Police Station, sedated her with drugs, and strangled her to death. Her body was later dumped in a forest area near Chimali in Bakot.

In protest against the kidnapping and murder, doctors at government hospitals in Abbottabad went on strike. The city has been plunged into mourning over the tragic loss.
