Asad remain part of the core committee. Fawad  take break from Politics

Islamabad_(Mudasser Chuhdary)_“I am stepping down as PTI secretary general. I am grateful to the workers, supporters and leaders for their cooperation,” the former federal planning minister said while addressing a press conference Wednesday night.

Asad Umar condemned the events of May 9 and raised the demand for a transparent investigation.

“Strong action should be taken against the persons involved in May 9 riots,” Asad Umar said, stressing that a number of innocent people have also been detained and he made an appeal for saving them from being fallen victim to injustice.

He called for holding political dialogue to solve the problems plaguing the country, saying: “All the stakeholders are on the same page on this matter. The state pillars and friends of the county wanted political leadership to find a way to overcome the financial and political challenges. Everyone should play their due role.”

“The judiciary is divided, Asad Umar said, adding that the entire nation has noticed. He said the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is a political reality.

The country needs the army more than Imran Khan, he said, adding that national problems should be resolved through political dialogue.

The military is not a group of three or four people whose name makes headlines and is discussed in talk shows, he stressed.

The ex-minister held the press conference after his release from the Adiala Jail. The PTI leader was freed from jail following the order of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that set aside the detention order under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance.

Earlier,

(PTI) suffered major blow as senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry quit the party and “took break” from politics.

Mr Chaudhry announced his departure, saying “I have decided to take a break from politics, therefore, I have resigned from party position and parting ways from Imran Khan”.

(MNA) Chaudhry Hussain Elahi has announced leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Chaudhry Hussain Elahi along with Chaudhry Ahsan announced rejoining of Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q).

The lawmaker condemned the May 9 riots and said he will announce his future plan after consulting his family.

The PTI members took to the streets to vent their spleen over the arrest of ex-PM Imran Khan on May 9.

The angry protesters damaged public property and sensitive installations across the county.

They stormed GHQ in Rawalpindi, Corps Commander House in Lahore and Radio Pakistan in Peshawar.

Innocent people lost their lives and the violence left a trail of devastation.

Among others who parted ways are Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi and Aftab Siddiqui. The announcements came through press conferences where the party leaders were seen publicly denouncing the attacks on the state installations.

Former minister Shireen Mazari said goodbye to politics at a press conference on Tuesday. She also condemned the violence that erupted on May 9 last after the arrest of former premier Imran Khan. She said her family was her priority.

Mr Chohan told media that he said his family was imbued with the love of army, adding that he would keep uncovering the conspiracies against Pakistan. “No one from the party leadership tried to stop PTI chief Imran Khan from doing violent politics,” he added.

“It was only me who tried to convince Mr Khan to do non-violent politics,” he said. “Consequently, he was banned from entering Zaman Park after he was granted the designation of media adviser by Mr Khan,” he added.

He went on to say that he had conveyed a message to Mr Khan to keep his struggle purely political instead of targeting institutions. “I told Mr Khan that the people around you are not advising you right,” he added.
