Delays towards installation of new electricity connections will not be tolerated

Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) IESCO management always focuses on implementation of consumers friendly policies and by following same On the instructions of Chief Executive IESCO Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan, a meeting was called in IESCO head office Islamabad chaired by Chief Engineer Customer Services Mr. Jafar Murtaza and Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Aslam Khan.
According to the source, the chair expressed his annoyance regarding delay in installation of new electricity connections and passed directives to ensure electricity meters installation within the time limit fixed by NEPRA. All circle in charged directed to submit report of pending connections with acceptable reason and if any IESCO employee found guilty in this delay departmental action must be intimated against those as consumer’s facilitation and convenience is top priority of IESCO.
As per details in a meeting Directives are issued to establish one window desk in all operation circles for provision of correct information to consumers regarding new connection, extension of load, reduction of load, change of name and tariff etc.
Furthermore the chair also issued directives to all circles in charge to monitor new connection activities personally and also run awareness campaigns to educate consumers regarding documents required for new connection and for the right forum and also educate consumers to make all electricity related payments i.e. bills payments, demand notices payments in nominated banks and no IESCO official is authorized to collect or demand cash for any official assignment.
