Pakistan Pacers Put India Under Pressure in U19 Asia Cup Clash
MUSCAT: (Sports Reporter) – India lost six wickets for 161 runs after opting to bat first against Pakistan in a much-anticipated Under-19 Asia Cup clash in Muscat on Sunday.
Pakistan’s Ali Raza made an early breakthrough, dismissing Indian captain Lakshya Rajesh Raichandani for a duck on the second ball of the innings.
Pakistan’s disciplined pace attack kept the pressure on India, reducing the defending champions to 44 for four inside 17 overs.
Rajput then launched a counterattack and brought up his half-century to help India recover, but Anvay Dravid’s dismissal further dented the batting side’s progress.
India Under-19 captain Lakshya Rajesh Raichandani had elected to bat after winning the toss against Pakistan in the high-profile encounter.
Pakistan entered the match as defending champions after defeating India by 191 runs in last season’s final to lift the title.
