CDA Issues Notices to Seminaries Linked to Maulana Fazlur Rehman
Three Hajj Operators Receive SECP Show-Cause Notices
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued notices to religious seminaries allegedly operated by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad over alleged violations of building regulations.
According to reports on Saturday, the authority has warned the seminary administrations of possible legal action, including sealing the buildings, if the alleged violations are not addressed.
The CDA has specifically issued a notice to Madrassa Akhtarul Uloom for constructing additional structures without obtaining approval of their building plans. The administration has been directed to submit duly approved maps of the buildings within 15 days.
The development comes a day after reports emerged that the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had issued show-cause notices to three Hajj operator companies allegedly linked to Mufti Ibrar, a close associate of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The companies named in the notices include Sajjad Travels and Tours, Al Rehab International and Shukar Al Faizan Travels.
According to the reports, the SECP has directed Al Rehab International to provide complete information about its beneficial owners. The other two companies have been asked to explain their alleged failure to comply with corporate transparency requirements within 14 days.
SECP officials described the action as part of broader financial and corporate investigations involving individuals and networks associated with the political circle.
The developments have brought increased regulatory scrutiny of properties and business entities reportedly linked to figures associated with the JUI-F leadership.
