OGDC chief takes the top role as ORLEN S.A. and MOL Pakistan leaders join the new team.

Ahmed Hayat Lak – ( Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Ahmed Hayat Lak as Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Exploration & Production Companies Association (PPEPCA) is the big news for the country’s energy sector. He is the Managing Director and CEO of Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC).

Two other senior leaders have also been chosen for key roles. Andrzej Kaczorowski, Managing Director of ORLEN S.A. (POGC), is the new Senior Vice Chairman. Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President of MOL Pakistan B.V., will serve as Vice Chairman.

The process took place in two steps. Members were elected to the Executive Committee at the 33rd Annual General Meeting on September 28, 2026. The office bearers were then chosen at an Executive Committee meeting on October 26.

The Executive Committee congratulated the new team. Members said the experience of these leaders would help the industry speak with a stronger voice. They also hope it will bring more investment and steady growth to Pakistan’s exploration and production (E&P) sector.

The committee gave a warm welcome to Lak in particular. OGDC is the largest oil and gas exploration company in Pakistan, and it plays a major part in the country’s energy supply.

His leadership is expected to improve talks with the government and regulators. It should also help the industry deal with policy and operational problems.

PPEPCA Secretary General Ibrar Khan said the Secretariat will work closely with the new leaders and the Executive Committee. He named investment, sustainable growth and energy security as the main priorities.

The new office bearers also promised to represent all member companies. They said they would work together to protect the shared interests of the industry.

The committee also thanked outgoing Chairman Masood Nabi. He is the Managing Director and CEO of Government Holdings (Private) Limited. Members praised his leadership and his efforts to raise the concerns of the E&P sector at government forums during his term.
