Stavros Pilios put AEK back in front in the 75th minute. His low shot crept through Thibaut Courtois’ legs. Kylian Mbappe equalised three minutes later, and Valverde then made sure of the win.

Liverpool had no such luck in Istanbul. They arrived with three wins from three, but lost 3-2 at Fenerbahce.
