Pakistan's Defence Industry Achieves Milestone With Successful Faaz Missile Test

RAWALPINDI: (Special Reporter) – Pakistan has successfully tested its first indigenously developed Faaz air-to-air missile, marking a new milestone in the country’s aerospace and defence capabilities, the military’s media wing announced on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile has been developed locally and features an advanced terminal guidance system. It is capable of engaging aerial targets at long range.

The ISPR said the successful test would enhance the operational flexibility of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and further strengthen the country’s overall defence capabilities.

It added that the development reflected the technical expertise, innovation and growing self-reliance of Pakistan’s defence industry.

Senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, along with scientists and engineers involved in the project, witnessed the missile test.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the service chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful test.

The ISPR described the achievement as another significant step towards strengthening Pakistan’s indigenous aerospace technology.
